The Camp today 01 April 2012

The camp is now used as a industrial estate, mainly pallet manufacture and storage, there are also a number of vehicle recycling garages that look more like scrap yards, and seem to have only Lhd cars with UK Registration plates on them!

Some of the accommodations blocks have been turned into homes,

The top part of the camp still looks original, which i believe was used as the officers Mess & Accommodation, this is now being used as temporary homes for asylum seekers.

The photos in this gallery need to be correctly labelled, this is where i need your help!

Another great set of images Kevin, I like the HDR effect, may I ask what program you use , is it Photomatix or Nik HDR Efex Pro. I would like to create the effect on my own images.

Keep up the good work, I never served in Soest but I'm sure your pictures will bring back memories to the guys who were there.

Served with 5 Armd., B Coy 6 Armd, and 11 Armd, cold winters and plenty of crash outs. Left The British Army for the Aussie Army, biggest mistake of my life. Yes BAOR was cold, yes the pay was shit, same as the food, but take it from me, in those days you had real mates. Pity lost touch with them all.
Live in Laos PDR now, and play with T34,s

When 16 Regt RA left Salamanca a stained glass widow was presented to St Lukes church. Does anyone know if the window survived after army departure from Soest?

Hey.
